Weeting Steam Engine Rally and Country Show (19th - 21st July, 2024)

One way and another, I have failed to make it back to Weeting since 2018. It's one of my favourite shows but it's a long way from home and until this year I wouldn't have missed many new engines. Paul Gilbey attended, as he did in 2022 and 2023 and i really must return in 2025. Paul writes:

"Here are my photographs from this year’s Weeting Rally. A total of 87 steam engines were present along with 4 steam cars and the centre engine, semi-portable engine and boiler made a total of 94 steam machines. We left home to grey overcast conditions but the further east we travelled the brighter it got. We were fortunate to have sunny conditions until mid-afternoon when it clouded over and had a few spots of rain. I understand from speaking to Ron Johl that it took him two hours to get parked. We had no such problems. The ground was dry and dusty as usual and there was plenty of engine movement around the site. with a very large attendance. It was great to see the Burrell Scenic "The Victory" in steam and at its first rally since the 1960's. the Fowler Ploughing engine "Sir John" was out for the first time after undergoing restoration it looked very good. Also of Interest was a small Garrett Portable engine returned to the UK from France. I have included a picture of the works plate which gives the pressure details in Kilos per cm."
