Peter Michie had a few days in the country in 1979 with the LCGB group. On 15th November he visited Saidpur works and found 2-6-4T L class 346 acting as pilot. Unusually for India, it had been built by Franco Belge in 1920 for the Assam Railways and Trading Company. (PM)
