San Carlos Milling Company

The San Carlos Milling Company was a sister organisation of the Hawaiian Philippine Company based in the town of the same name on the east side of the island. In the days when most enthusiasts had jobs and short holidays, few people made the long trek from Bacolod (a whole long day in itself). In turn the lack of information discouraged all but the most determined from trying their luck.

As the pictures show, we missed a delightful system with an interesting operation in attractive countryside. I finally made it here long after steam died, it didn't take me long to work out that I could have spent a very happy week here in the 1980s if my circumstances had allowed it.
