Tiger Steam - Fiji

By 1957, 0-6-0T Nausori 5 (John Fowler 7023/1893) was the only locomotive hauling cane to the mill. It came here from Lambasa in 1913 and was scrapped in 1959. Its footplate was so narrow (fore and aft) that the fireman had to use a short handled shovel and clean the firebox through a slot in the rear buffer beam. (PH)
