Safari Steam North

Robert Stephenson built six 2-8-2s for the Kenya Uganda Railway in 1928. Numbered 1-6 originally, they became 2801-6. Used mainly on the Nairobi - Mombasa mail trains (as with 4 here in the 1940s), they needed experienced crews to bring out the best in them and did not last long in EAR days. (KP Collection)
