The most significant rollers present were the first three.
The Aillot is 'rare' at least in my book, there are a dozen or so in France
listed in the 4th edition of the European Traction Engine Register, another
one is preserved in Ambilobe in Madagascar. It was found stored in a barn in
France a few years back. The two old Aveling and Porter rollers were a fine
sight, 1760 being the oldest one in existence and 2371 is not much younger,
it survived many years almost hidden in a hedge.
