This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events normally occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). Click here for the overall index for 2021. Our previous rally had been Grand Henham in September 2019, so it was not inappropriate that we resumed our 'normal' lifestyle with a cat sitting stay with friends near Diss. It removed the risk of a late cancellation and while the number of engines was not going to be large, I was more or less guaranteed two 'new' engines and two more which I hadn't seen in steam. We went on Sunday, it was overcast while we admired the gardens and the sun duly made an appearance after 15.00. Of course, there are static museum exhibits here too, some of which are shown in our 2017 report. I have also uploaded a page covering the active non-miniature steam locomotives (one standard gauge, the rest 610mm gauge. The active road engines are shown below, but first here are the two most satisfying pictures of the day.
