Where individuals pioneered, organised tours followed with their  charter trains, on the first two lines especially.

The three 760mm (2'6") narrow gauge railways quietly faded away and were officially all closed in 1991 although few trains ran in the later years. Staff, however, remained in post and as will be seen one group got a locomotive steamed at Mari Indus as late as 1997.
