The Oil Palm Railways of North Sumatra

The design of wagon was specific. The holes allowed steam to be passed through to sterilise the 'berries' which contained the oil. The body could then be lifted off the chassis for emptying and further processing. These wagons were at Gunung Melayu on 30th May 1977. (RD)
