Tasik Madu's classic Steam Roller

One of the more pleasant surprises during my 2003 visit was to find that the vertical boilered steam roller at Tasik Madu was serviceable and had been in use in early June. So naturally I arranged to get it steamed on August 20th, unfortunately my tour group had nearly all gone home.... Special thanks are due to Doni Setiawan and family from the warung behind for doing the business for me - if you visit don't forget to buy your T shirt  there! 

To get out and about the roller had to lurch across the narrow gauge tracks:

The drive is a wonder to behold, note the essential spike which fell out during the event, causing the mill deliveries to come to a halt.

The roller is a wood burner, naturally we had to the buy some wood for the special steaming....
