Conventional locomotives like 2101 'Kalambo' on 5th May 1970 could be turned on the turntable which was part of the roundhouse. Garratts needed to use the triangle at Ilala. The maker's plate is prominent. Both shed and turntable survived in 2001, but only for wagons. (DM)
