Like most steam locomotives, each of the 59 class carried a brass plate applied by its manufacturer, in this case Beyer Peacock of Manchester, England. However, in the case of 5918 'Mount Gelai', this had been transferred to the cab where it was kept gleaming by its proud driver, Kirpal Singh of Mombasa. (RF) |
