The railways of East Africa as we know them today were first established separately by the British and Germans at the beginning of the 20th century. Today they are again run separately by the three countries concerned. However, the time that this CD-ROM refers to reflects a period when the railways had been under a single administration. On 14th October 1972, this coach in Kenya, like its counterparts in Tanzania and Uganda bore the crest of the East African Railways Corporation. (TB) |
