Stoke Prior Steam Rally (12th - 14th September, 2014) |

This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). Click here for the overall index for 2014. Stoke Prior like South Molton is a very small rally, we were tipped off about it at Old Warden by an old hand. It made a very good brief stopover on our way home on Sunday, especially as we had spent the morning at the magnificent gardens at Stowe near Buckingham, a very good way of earning some Brownie Points and enjoyable too for me. One of the exhibitors said he thought the crowds had been modest, but the man in the bar tent seemed more than happy as he was down to his last real ale, if the rally was a little overpriced for what it offered then the beer price made up for it. Yuehong pronounced herself well satisfied by her weekend and promptly fell asleep as son as we turned on to the M50. Steam Roller
