Moreton Morrell Open Day (16th May, 2026)

This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and over a hundred at an elite few (Old Warden, Welland and Weeting). Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire provides vocational training for those looking for a career in a range of land based subjects. It holds regular open days to promote its courses. Hugh Sykes attended one such event and was very pleasantly surprised to find traction engine 'Countryman' present. I don't think any of their courses include working with steam powered road engines! There are reports of this engine on the web, but so far, it has not crossed my path.
