Old Warden Steam Rally 2025
General Engines, Part 3

This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). The 'Grand Parade' at Old Warden is a modest affair, unlike Shrewsbury which somehow packed in over 80 engines during our August 2025 visit this arena has limited capacity. Where Old Warden does score is that the parkland layout does lend itself to a constant circulation of engines, which, by some strange coincidence seem to pass through the catering area which includes one of the bars.
