East Midlands (Steam and) Country Show (29th April - 1st May, 2023)
This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). I'm pleased to present Paul Gilbey's pictures of this small recently established event at Higham Ferrers.
Paul says "As steam rallies go this was very poor. Only seven full size steam engines listed in the programme but only four turned up. Large crowd on the Monday with many more cars, lorries, motor bikes exhibited and a lot of trade stands offering a varied selection of goods. This event is more of a country fair than steam rally I won't be going again."
