Working Steam
This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). The event had a strong working area, I spent a very happy half an hour or so recording the scene on video which I have uploaded to my YouTube channel..
There were two portables at work sawing, Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies (15650 and 26915). Unfortunately, I was so preoccupied with taking video that I omitted to photograph the latter at work.
Marshall 34022 was working a Goodwin stone crusher, unfortunately it started work rather late by which time the sun angle was not good.
Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies 42013 was working a saw bench.
Burrell 3919 was working a Ransomes threshing machine.
