Strumpshaw Steam Rally 2016
Working Engines

This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK (since 2013). Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). Click here for the Strumpshaw index and click here for the overall 2016 index.

Saw Benches

Allchin 1527 beavered away all day with some modest logs (top row), unfortunately, the way the light was, it was not well placed for photography.

Foster 14422 had more a challenging set of timber pieces, unfortunately they were oversized for the saw blade and eventually a chain saw was brought in to cut through the upper part. I suspect people attending the second two days would have seen more wood sawn that I did.

Road Making

Burrell 3106 was driving a stone crusher which provided material for a short road project which also used other vintage (non-steam) equipment.
