Welland Steam Rally (26th - 28th July, 2013)

After the successful visit to Marcle, it was indeed
fortunate that the Lea
Bailey Light Railway (http://www.leabaileylightrailway.co.uk/
link broken by December 2021) (for whom I then acted as website editor) had been invited
to attend Welland as part of a demonstration of traditional road making. We
had a lift to visit on one day of the show to record both our participation
(first link below) and also the show as a whole although I would have liked
more time.
We had a lot to learn and Welland was a step up from Marcle with, at 50, about twice as many steam exhibits. The day started fine but had clouded over by the time I was able to wander freely.
