Camborne Trevithick Day, (29th April 2017) |
This is one of a series of pages I have uploaded to illustrate facets of the steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Click here for the 2017 introduction and overall index. On the last Saturday of April each year, the good people of Camborne come together to have a giant street party to celebrate the town's most famous son, Richard Trevithick. Naturally steam engines are the centre piece and after being on show during the day, they parade round the town in the afternoon. We also made time to visit the classic gardens at Glendurgan. The non-steam section is covered in the Camborne Fun link below. This was the scene at Carn Brea as the engines gathered for a collective road run into town.
There is a short clip of Aveling and Porter roller 'Major' storming into Camborne in the early morning on my YouTube channel -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxhnG_z-X8I. Choose the page you are interested in and within that, click on a thumbnail for a larger image. Then click again to return to the page. |
