Haddenham Steam Rally (9th - 10th September, 2023)

Unless there is a special reason (e.g. the recent Bressingham Portables event) or over 40 engines for certain then a rally like Haddenham, frankly, is too far to go for us. So yet again I am extremely grateful to Paul Gilbey who has provided this set of pictures so I can enjoy a 'virtual' steam rally and share it with fellow enthusiasts. Rather more engines were present than last year (37 2023, 33 2022).

The rally put on exhibition to mark the 175th anniversary of the formation of Marshalls of Gainsborough. Of course, it was a multi-faceted business so anyone who didn't appreciate this and who expected more steam exhibits may have been disappointed. Traction engine 25556 was driving a Marshall thresher (thrasher).
The other 'working' engine was Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies 30004, I do not know the .provenance of the saw bench.
I am told that there was a 'good turnout of tractors' but I don't know how many had Marshall connections..
