Fairford Steam Rally (16th - 17th August, 2014) |
||
|
This is one of a series of pages I have uploaded to illustrate facets of the steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Click here for the 2014 introduction and overall index. Fairford is a small rally set on a farm just east of Cirencester. The steam exhibits had not come far, or at least without exception they were familiar to us, in fact apart from the ploughing engines all had been at South Cerney. The non-steam exhibits were present but not in overwhelming numbers. The weather was dry but much cloudier than the weather forecast had suggested and so the video stayed in the car - the still pictures give a false picture as often happens! The ploughing was perhaps the highlight with a pair of Fowler steam engines at work and also a pair of the McLaren conversions working next to each other, this was one end.
