Carrington Steam Rally (28th - 29th May, 2022) |

|
This is one of a series of pages I have uploaded to illustrate facets of the steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Click here for the 2022 introduction and overall index. We visited Carrington in 2019 as part of a long weekend and found it to be a relatively small event compared to others we travel some distance to. However, being isolated from other similar events in the same general area (Lincoln probably being the nearest), it was maybe not surprising that there were 6 new engines and it could have been more as 2 of the 'no shows' I had yet to see as well. It's a trek we are unlikely to repeat in the near future, so I am very happy to present this selection of pictures from collaborator Paul Gilbey. For me this time there would have been no new engines, so it's as well we went no further than Castle Combe. For Paul, I guess that the most satisfying sight would have been the two surviving Brown and May traction engines (one a tractor and the other a Showman's engine).
