The Oil Palm Railways of North Sumatra

Although I did not realise it at the time, this was the last photograph I ever took of a Luttermöller in action in North Sumatra. 31 drifts into the mill at the end of its journey on August 2nd 1993. When I returned with my tour group just a week later, the line had been closed and the locomotives placed in store. (RD)
