The Oil Palm Railways of North Sumatra

The longest run was that from Dolok Sinumbah to Tonduhaan, nearly 50km each way. This was my first trip on the line on 31st July 1987. Not knowing what to expect my son and I had brought no provisions so feasted ourselves on the fabulous local durian fruit which was fortunately in season. (RD)
