55 was constructed by Werskpoor (468/1920), others were built by Hartmann. Deli Spoorweg Mij operated the railways around Medan in North Sumatra and its locomotives were never renumbered into the national system. This 2-6-4 had two outside cylinders 390 x 550 mm with driving wheel diameter of 1300 mm. Boiler pressure was 12.0 kg/cm2, grate area 2.0 m2 with a heating surface of 78.3 m2 and a superheater surface of 20.5 m2. Overall weight was 48.3 tons with 25.7 tons available for adhesion. 55 is preserved at Taman Mini near Jakarta. This photograph is courtesy of Suhadi Hadiwinoto (2000).
