Calling Nomination for ISRS Awards

The Indian Steam Railway Society is organizing its next congress, the 11th Steam Congress on the 1st and 2nd of February 2014. This congress is being held as the 1st International Steam Congress of the society with international participation.

2. This unique annual event of the society attracts international attention and has over a period of time resulted in positioning India as one of the finest steam heritage tourism destinations in the world.

3. In order to encourage steam preservation activities in the country, the Indian Steam Railway Society has been conferring awards on individuals and organizations who have rendered distinguished service in the field of steam locomotives. This year the society wishes to confer this distinguished award on individuals or organizations/associations that are performing exemplary service to the cause of steam locomotives anywhere in the world. The society is therefore seeking nominations from individuals and organizations/associations from across the world for these prestigious awards.

4. The nomination form is attached. Nominations should be submitted latest by 15/12/2013.

Calling Entries for Photography Competition

The Indian Steam Railway Society is organizing its next congress, the 11th Steam Congress on the 1st and 2nd of February 2014. This congress is being held as the 1st International Steam Congress of the society with substantial international participation.

2. This unique annual event of the society attracts international attention and has over a period of time resulted in positioning India as one of the finest steam heritage tourism destinations in the world.

3. In order to encourage steam preservation activities in the country, the Indian Steam Railway Society regularly organizes exhibitions of photographs, paintings and exhibits on the theme of steam locomotives. This year it has been decided to organize an international photography competition on this theme.

4. The entries shall be judged by an eminent jury and the best three entries shall be awarded during the International Steam Congress on the 1st of February 2014 at New Delhi. Besides, all the entries shall be put on display at the venue of the congress in the form of an exhibition.

5. The photographic entries received shall become the property of the society which shall be free to utilize them for promotional and other non commercial activities.

6. An individual can submit a maximum of five entries, ie five photographs. The photographs should be submitted in the form of prints of a minimum size 5X7. Both colour and B/W photographs shall be accepted.

7. All photographs should have the name and address of the participant written at the back of every photograph.

8. The entry form is available. Entries should be submitted latest by 15/12/2013.

Calling Articles/Papers for annual magazine - 2014

The Indian Steam Railway Society is organizing its next congress, the 11th Steam Congress on the 1st and 2nd of February 2014. This congress is being held as the 1st International Steam Congress of the society with substantial international participation.

2. This unique annual event of the society attracts international attention and has over a period of time resulted in positioning India as one of the finest steam heritage tourism destinations in the world.

3. The society publishes an annual magazine on this occasion every year. This year keeping in view the international participation, we are also seeking articles from overseas steam enthusiasts. The articles should be around 1000 words in size and preferably accompanied by photographs.

4. Kindly submit the articles & photographs by 15/12/2013 by mail to G.Shankar Secretary/ISRS at gshankar_59@yahoo.co.uk or by post at his address W-148, GK-1, New Delhi 110048.
