Welland Steam Rally (26th - 28th July, 2013)

This is one of a series of pages I have uploaded to illustrate facets of the seven steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Click here for the introduction and overall index.

After the successful visit to Marcle, it was indeed fortunate that the Lea Bailey Light Railway (for whom I act as website editor) had been invited to attend Welland as part of a demonstration of traditional road making. We had a lift to visit on one day of the show to record both our participation (first link below) and also the show as a whole although I would have liked more time.

We had a lot to learn and Welland was a step up from Marcle with, at 50, about twice as many steam exhibits. The day started fine but had clouded over by the time I was able to wander freely.

David Collidge's Steam Scenes website ( is a fount of information and was a great help in compiling these pages.
