Abbey Hill Steam Rally (2nd - 4th May, 2014)

This is one of a series of pages I have uploaded to illustrate facets of the steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Click here for the 2014 introduction and overall index.

Abbey Hill (Yeovil) is a medium sized event, perfect for a gentle start to the season, but occupying a show ground there is no opportunity for a steam ploughing demonstration. UK hire car rates for weekends are still very reasonable and we always take an 'economy model' which mitigates high fuel costs. It's not just the steam or the other exhibits on wheels, the atmosphere is totally traditional and this time the weather was glorious as the pictures show.
