Preserved Road Steam In Bulgaria

David Hill took these pictures of an otherwise unidentified Ruston Proctor portable at Prilip near Varna in Bulgaria 10 July 2008 - these pictures added on 21st July 2016.


Thomas Kautzor has sent pictures of three very different engines:

Portable engine Ransomes Sims and Jefferies (RSJ) 24527/1912 is preserved at Rila (famous for its monastery), it has lost its 'engine' (10th March 2011).

Zettlemeyer steam roller is preserved just south of Lukovit, on the way from Cerven Brjag to Sofia (4th March 2011).

This Caar Scott (Richmond, Indiana, USA) traction engine is preserved at Miziya, the last town on the closed 760mm gauge branch from Cerven Brjag to Orjahovo, (4th March 04, 2011).
